Kids who know God…recognize His voice…. and have real encounters with Him.
God speaks to kids!
Just as God spoke to Samuel when he was a boy, at Hope Community Church we believe that God speaks to children. In fact, learning to hear and obey His voice is what it means to really know God. (1 Samuel 3:7; John 10:27) The underlying message in everything we teach is that God wants to speak to them and they should expect that He will on a daily basis.
Children’s Programs and Activities:
Kid’s Café – Breakfast for the Soul
Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 9:50
Kids age 5 through grade 5 who come to Kid’s Café begin their morning with a treat from the Breakfast Cart and a few minutes of socializing around the café tables in the Lion’s Café. The remaining time is focused on the spiritual disciplines of Bible memory, worship, prayer and giving tithes and offerings with a special emphasis on learning to hear God’s voice. There is also a toddler class for children age 2 through 4.
Bible Breakout Classes Sunday Mornings
These classes take place during the adult service (10:30 to 11:15) for children age 4 through grade 5. During this time they learn to know the Bible and how it applies to their lives using age appropriate curriculum. Classes are held twice a month (2nd and 4th Sundays.)
Nursery Service Sunday Mornings
A staffed nursery is available beginning at 10:00 a.m. for children age one to three. There is also a mother’s room for moms and their babies under one year old.
Boys and Girls Clubs Monthly or Bi-monthly activities
This is a time of fellowship that includes a fun activity, craft or service project along with a short devotional and snack. Some favorite club activities have been pine box derbies, family movie nights, making gingerbread houses, fishing, scrapbooking and soap making. Kids are encouraged to invite friends as an opportunity for outreach beyond those who attend Hope Community Church.
Vacation Bible School
Bible stories, singing, games, crafts and snacks are all part of this fun-packed week in the summer. It is an intense time of focusing on what it means to have a relationship with Jesus, learning about the Bible and having a lot of fun in the process. This week is truly a highlight of the summer!
