Prodigal Love

July 12, 2026 | Catharine Frederick

What if the father is the real prodigal in this story? Catharine opens Luke 15 and the parables Jesus told about lost things. She points out that prodigal means lavish, even reckless. The son spent his money that way. The father loved that way. When the boy came home filthy and ashamed, the father ran to meet him and threw the best robe over him before he said a word. This message is about grace that doesn’t wait for you to clean up first.
