There is a place for you at Hope!

Join us in person and online Sunday mornings at 10 am.

Visiting a new church can be hard. Let us make it a little easier.

When you visit Hope, you will be greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. At the same time, we try to never put visitors on the spot or call you out in the service. You can dress up, or come casual – either way you will fit right in.
If you have children, you can pick up a Busy Bag with kids activities to keep little hands occupied during the service.
No matter where you are in your faith journey, from life long Christian to just finding out more about God, there is a place for you at Hope.

What to Expect

What are your services like?

Our services typically begin with a time of energetic contemporary worship. Singing has always been an expression of a person’s heart and soul. We sing to express our heart worship to a God who created us and loves us. The remainder of the service includes times of prayer, a time of giving, and an inspiring message from the Bible. If you desire personal prayer, prayer team members are available to pray with you after the service.

Is there a nursery?

A nursery staffed with loving volunteers is available for infants up to age 3 during the service. All children’s workers go through background checks to ensure a safe and loving atmosphere for our greatest little treasures.

Are there Bible classes for adults?

Adult classes are held at 9:00 a.m. before the morning service.

What should I wear?

We have a casual atmosphere, so wear what feels appropriately comfortable. At Hope you will see people who dress up, and people who dress casual. Come as you are and you will fit right in.

How long does your Sunday service last?

The service starts at 10:00 am and most often closes between 11:15 and 11:30.

Will I have to sign anything, say anything or be singled out?

No. We try to greet everyone warmly, without singling people out during the service. We give money to the church as an act of worshiping God. However don’t feel obligated to give money. We just want to bless you during your visit.

How large is your congregation?

There is around 75 people in attendance on a typical Sunday morning.

What denomination is the church?

Hope Community Church is a Mennonite congregation and is part of the LMC network of churches.

We believe in a personal three-in-one God who is both holy and gracious; in salvation by grace through repentance and faith; in the humanity and divinity of Jesus; in the inspiration and authority of Scripture; in the power of the Holy Spirit, and in the church as the body of Christ. Anabaptism also emphasizes believer’s baptism, community of faith, and following Jesus in everyday life. We believe in and try to live out Jesus command to be peacemakers, to love and forgive our enemies, and to live nonviolent lives of faith.

Three key statements that describe Anabaptists:

  • Jesus is the center of our faith. All scripture is understood through the lens of Jesus’ life and teachings.
  • Community is the center of our life. Faith is never private, or individualistic. Faith must be lived out together in a family of believers, the church.
  • Reconciliation is the center of our work. We are not merely waiting for heaven. God want to use us, the church, to bless and heal a broken world.

Anabaptist Christians grew out of the Reformation in Europe, along with other Christian groups like Lutherans and others. Breaking from the Catholic church in Europe, early Anabaptists taught that everyone should read the Bible, listen to the voice of God and live out the teachings of Jesus. They were some of the first to baptize adults only, believing that one must be old enough to understand what it means to make a life long commitment to follow Jesus before getting baptized. They also began teaching and living out Jesus’ teaching about living and working for peace and non-violence and not participating in war. They began to prioritize generous support of each other in the church community.

Today we continue to work together to live by the teachings of Jesus in daily life while bringing God’s hope and love to those who dont yet know Him.
